brunch brunch brunch

More details on my terrific brunch at Locanda Verde in NYC!

From left to right:

1) Soft, cheesy, salty, oily (in a good way) focaccia and an incredible pastry platter to start: moist olive oil coffee cake, savory zucchini bread, and a warm and gooey blueberry buttermilk doughnut demolished within seconds. Apricot jam and honey butter on the side to add even more flavor, sugar, and fatty goodness. Ahh foodgasm.

2) Mike’s  Uovo Modenese - corned beef hash + eggs benedict + toast - mmmm so hearty and flavorful.

3) My light and fluffy Lemon Ricotta Blueberry Pancakes, surprisingly filling but not heavy with the perfect dose of citrus flavor.

4) (Not pictured) Epsita’s unexpectedly delicious and huge 8 Hour Tripe with runny eggs. I usually hate tripe, but this was so un-tripe-like, cooked in a super tasty sauce, amazing!

Small cherry on top: Tre-Stelle house made orange-pomegranate juice - nothing spectacular for $7 a class but ended up being a delicious freebie to top off our meal because it was mistakenly left off our tab woo! The only thing better than good food/drink is FREE good food/drink!

Food like this is why brunch is my favorite meal. Get your hipster foodie self out to Locanda Verde! But do beware of mosquitoes potentially lurking under your table, I left with several humongous bites on my legs and feet, ick :( I guess all the yummy food makes mosquitoes hungry too :P
